Product Description:

The Otter Hair Pack consists of 5 different hair options: Mohawk (purple), Long/Mane (tan), Bangs (blue), Lift (Pink), and Fade (Orange). This product is made for ShadeTheBat’s Awtter but many of the hair FBX’s can fit on various other avatars as well! The Awtter model, dynamic bones, and poiyomi shader are NOT included in the package. Each hair FBX is worth $2, plus the free hair "Mohawk" which is already available in the Awtter Space discord within the Assets Database!

Extra Information:

Polygon Counts:

-          Lift (Pink) is ~12K polygons

-          Bangs (Blue) is ~20K polygons

-          Long (Tan) is ~30K polygons

-          Mohawk (Purple) is ~21K polygons

-          Fade (Orange) is ~15k polygons

Setup:

Import the VRC SDK, dynamic bones, poiyomi toon shader, and your avatar unity package into unity. Then, import the Hair Package unity package you downloaded here. If you're in the avatar's scene, open the "Hair" folder, open the "Prefabs" folder, and drag the hair prefab you want into the hierarchy on the left. Then drag the prefab under the "Head" bone of your avatar, so that the hair's parent bone is the avatar's head bone. Click the play button on top of the screen in unity to see if the dynamic bones are working, you may need to adjust the Head collider- To do this, click on the "Head" bone on your avatar in the hierarchy, in the inspector on the right side of the window you should see a component titled "Dynamic Bone Collider" simply change the radius of this collider from 3 to 2.

The hairs are also compatible with quest even with some of the higher poly counts. If you're going for optimization, I recommend the Lift or the Fade, but the Mohawk and Fade can also work quite well. Simply place the hair where you want it in the scene and attach it to the head bone of the bald avatar. Create a new material and set the shader to VrChat -> Mobile -> ToonLit, add your texture, and apply the material to the hair by dragging it onto the hair in the scene. Then upload!
